Recently, I watched a couple of videos about women analyzing clothing in a way I had never really heard before. They used words like texture, structure, silhouette, and drape to describe garments, and I found it fascinating. It reminded me that there are entire vocabularies people develop to explain the things they love deeply. As someone interested in fashion, I realized how important it is to learn these terms — not just to sound knowledgeable, but to better understand why certain clothes feel beautiful, dramatic, soft, sharp, playful, or timeless. Some of the words I noted down were: Texture Structure Silhouette Proportion Drape Fabric / Material Detail Movement Styling Function Storytelling These are more than fashion terms. They are part of the visual language of clothing — small tools for understanding how garments communicate identity, mood, and personality without saying anything at all.
