Maybe it’s because I’ve had a week’s holiday, including some nights when I actually slept soundly and didn’t have too many bizarre dreams, so I’m full of energy and enthusiasm that will dissipate as soon as work kicks in again – but I’ve decided to start a fortnightly newsletter. The basic idea is to commit to writing something, rather than waiting for inspiration or deep thoughts to strike, so this will be determinedly trivial (for Neville values of trivial, given that I can waffle pretentiously about pretty well everything) – just whatever has occurred to me over the course of the fortnight. I don’t guarantee that the first edition will be typical, either in length or contents, but it’s more or less representative of my interests so the generic headings are likely to recur; do feel free to feed back if you want more or less of something, though I may not take a blind bit of notice.
