War is the product of men. Men who fundamentally believe their way is the only way and their certainty is the only certainty. They embody and perpetuate the delusion that the only way to realise their certainty is to take what they believe is rightfully theirs. By force, by violence and by any means necessary. And so they send other men (and women) to do their bidding. The cost is borne by these and others. The pawns, the shields, the mums and their children. And we can but wonder why we rarely learn from the follies of our fathers.
