As we sort of expected the conservatory rear extension is all a bit of a bodge on a bodge type of thing. Thankfully it’s mostly built under the big main roof overhang so is mostly watertight, save the area over the back door directly under the bottom of the valley gutter that’s leaking badly in heavy rain. Unfortunately fixing that will have to wait until we re-roof after we’ve sold other house. So as far as we can see, there were two stages of expending, first the infill of the eves overhang, which appears to be done to a reasonable DIY standard, and then later it was absolutely butchered with terrible shoddy bodging to fit the weirdly low height double glazing units to the eves wall and adding the plastic roofed box extension and a plastic back door. We had decided to follow the same ethos as the rest of the house and strip back all the layers of DIY until we get to the good solid original framework… unfortunately here we had to re-work all the stud framing as there was little…
