Dear Ciara, The garden beds are built, the seedlings are growing, but they’re still not large enough to be transplanted. I’m hoping another next week is all that is needed, provided the weather behaves itself and I keep on top of watering them consistently. Transplanting seeds in the tropics is a challenging process—or perhaps I just overthink it? Even plants of a tropical nature that can tolerate heat are so vulnerable to it when they are young. I tend to try and transplant in the evenings to give them the best chance of survival. Heavy rainfall is also a concern, so I also only try to transplant when the weather is dry or the rain is light. We are expecting some heavy rain (again) this weekend, so it is probably for the best that I give the beds another week before I plant them out.
