The joys of picking up a hobby

Post last updated 6 minutes ago Been a while since I wrote here, mostly due to being out of ideas that don't involve politics or AI since that's most of what I hear about nowadays1. And also because I (re)started a hobby: photography. Since I had my first point and shoot Lumix some 15 years ago, I've been intrigued by photography and have tried on an off to take some steps into that direction. Before, money for a decent camera besides my phone were not enough, and to be honest I just didn't had enough drive to actually learn. Later, the camera on the iPhone 15 Pro I have would've been more than enough in terms of quality, but... I kind of despise the technically perfect photo. Yes, it's pleasant to the eye, but not to the soul. More often than not, it doesn't scratch a certain itch if the picture is just perfect.
