Getting married is often associated with spending eye-watering amounts of money. Allow me to challenge this notion with a simple observation: the expensive part of a wedding is nothing more or less than a voluntary party. Getting and staying married is a serious commitment which has nothing to do with this party. If anything, I would argue the price of the party has an inverse correlation with the early success of the marriage. Celebrating your wedding with your friends and family can be beautiful thing. Luckily, these memories will exists regardless of the presence of a table cloth and flower arrangement. A wedding dress is often an uncomfortable piece of clothing you will wear once, so value it accordingly. A wedding party can be as simple as a keg of beer at your local bar or a dinner at home with friends. Neither the success of your marriage nor the memories of your guests will depend on the price of this party. A whole industry is unfortunately build to convince you otherwise.…
