I don’t think I’ve read a book of fiction in the 21st century. I’ve watched plenty of fiction on television and at the movies, and I’ve read plenty of books in the past 25 years, but purchasing a work of fiction in book form? This I have not done in many years. This week I decided to modify that trend. I’ve mentioned numerous times that I’m burned out on social media. That burnout extends to the Internet in general. Aside from making videos, watching videos, and occasionally scrolling through an algorithmic feed until I come across an ad (which is usually either immediately or after a maximum of three posts), I’m really, really, really tired of the Internet. Mom and Dad used to laugh when they came downstairs as I was eating breakfast cereal and I’d be reading something like the phone book.
