Earl and I had a date night last night. One of my presents for his birthday a few months ago was tickets to see author and humorist David Sedaris on the University of Arizona campus. After dinner at an Italian restaurant near U of A, we headed over to Centennial Hall. Seats were filling quickly, even though we entered the theatre more than 30 minutes before the show was scheduled to begin. As the seats begin to fill in around us, I noticed a number of seats to my left were empty. Like waiting for the boarding door to close with empty seats in your row on an airline flight, I was hoping I’d get a little extra elbow row during the show. About two minutes before the scheduled start time, two women sat down next to me. They were carrying deli trays of food and juggling a couple glasses of wine each. They both looked to be in their late 40s with their greying hair. The woman closest to me had number of tattoos, including a sizable sleeve tattoo I usually see on male body builders and the…
