Several weeks ago I was fed up with how my room was a mess and incomplete. It just didn’t have a positive setting and I decided to finally rectify the problem. In the process of cleaning and setting things up how I wanted it to be, I came across some books I inherited from my father-in-law when he passed away. These books have been sitting for thirteen years, and I’ve not once read them. This too needs to change. As a result of this cleanup I found myself having a discussion with my son about the new-found Star Trek books where I made a comment that I wished I was smarter when I was younger to pickup more of these books when they were so cheap. The outcome of this discussion lead to an unexpected yet delightful surprise that brings gratitude. Yet what’s funny about all this book talk is that reading was once an activity that I dreaded and didn’t enjoy, but I’ve grown to really enjoy it not just for entertainment, but for the wealth of knowledge.
