Each year, our local motorsports club puts on a special two-day autocross event affectionately named the "Tour de Frank" after the Milton Frank Stadium where we get to race. The first day is treated like our usually-scheduled championship-series event, and the course is run in reverse (with some minor tweaking) on the second day. Competitors who choose to race both days get entered in the Tour, and the final Tour standings are determined by combining each competitor's fastest run from each day. Class winners get cash prizes (in addition to the usual bragging rights). The extra degree of friendly competition always makes for a really fun weekend, and this event was no exception. I struggled to put down a good time on the first day, but did manage to drop about a half second (based on my in-car data) on my last run - before getting issued a re-run due to timing problems. On my re-run I carried too much speed into the slalom along the ditch and opted to abort (and take the DNF penalty)…
