you want to go to a fun place? sure... if only it existed, and didn't take a 20-minute drive to get there. you want to learn or create something? sure... if only people stopped telling you to just use chatGPT. you want to start a new hobby? sure... if only tik tok influencers weren't expecting you to find a way to monetize it somehow. you want to play a new game? sure... if only other players of the game weren't taking it so seriously that they'd throw a fit when they lose. you want to decorate your living space/closet/website? sure... if only people didn't call anything more than white walls, gray/brown furniture, jeans, and black-text-on-white-backgrounds "tacky". we have forgotten how to have fun. this will be a bit shorter than my usual posts, but... guys, i'm worried about humans. worried about city designers neglecting what humans do for social connection. worried about the growing prevalence of AI tools touted as shortcuts for effort. worried about the turning of fun pastimes…
