In the nearly two months since I last published something on this very good blog, Katy and I: Listed our house. Got two offers on our house in less than two weeks. Sold our house. I can't believe it's actually happening. Can't believe how fortunate we've been. Like, truly, I feel like an asshole because of how all of this is shaking out the way it is? The way that everything seems to have fallen into place. How it all seems to just. Be. Working. I don't even like mentioning it, because, again, asshole feelings. I don't want to brag! I'm not a braggart!![1] But it also doesn't feel right to, you know, not mention it. To refuse to take note of just how magical and momentous and unusual this all feels. To dismiss our fortuitousness in an impish display of nonchalance, pretending as though The Universe hasn't just kicked open the goddamned door and is now vehemently ushering us through it.
