Secrets on the Essex Coast at Shoeburyness

Essex coastal walk from Shoeburyness to Haven Point via Wakering Stairs and then along the banks of the River Roach. First we explore the fascinating site of a Victorian brickworks now buried beneath the coast with Professor Kate Spencer who explains how the secrets of its past are being revealed due to coast erosion. Then I walked around Ministry of Defence Shoeburyness to the coastal path that passes Wakering Stairs and the Broomway. This path takes me to Haven Point, along the banks of the River Roach to Wakering Boatyard and inland to Shoeburyness Station via Great Wakering.
