Hello wonderful people inside of the internet and welcome to the end of another week on planet earth! I wasn't expecting this week to be so busy but it ended up being pretty busy. I had my thesis defence this week and past that so that's the big good news :) Watching Frances Ha wasn't bad, but it leant heavily into cringe humour which is not my favourite. I skipped forward in several scenes to avoid having to watch Frances making terrible social mistakes for no reason. I'm also not convinced that being in black and white was strictly necessary. Notes on Blindness was surprisingly good, nice and short, very moving. I only wish they'd mentioned the lip-sync thing at the end rather than the start, so that i could focus a bit more on the plot and a bit less on how accurate the mouth movements were.
