Sunday Asides #93 I’m really disappointed that the Voting Rights Act has been gutted thanks to those old fucktards in the Supreme Court. I put up a video by Jamelle Bouie a couple of days ago where he talks about this more eloquently than I can, but needless to say...this is dire shit. And months before this country’s 250th birthday at that. (Not that voting rights were all that great back when the country was founded either.) We already knew that the upcoming midterm elections were going to be important, and this drives that point home even more, especially here in the South. FUCK, man. Speaking of voting, I need to catch up on local politics for Georgia’s upcoming elections. I've been seeing TV ads for some of the candidates running for governor and lieutenant governor, but overall, I have no idea of the entire slate of candidates or their issues.
