original post by gordon mclean yeah, it's true. the more frequently you do something repetitive, the more you grow disinterested in it. i feel that way about every so-called "convenience" of the smartphone. when i was growing up in the 2000s, cell phones had simple communication features (and fun designs, at that), and no one was expected to be on social media 24/7. in hindsight, i had no idea that facebook would become what it is now, and i should've seen the early warning signs when i was messing with my cousins' original iPhone and got confused that you couldn't turn it off by pressing the power button once. while it seems like the rest of my family always have their phones in their hands when bored and waiting, i'm striving to be different and mindful. social media? i logged off and blocked access to them. internet browsing? also blocked; now i only do it on a real computer. i'm trying to make my phone, if you'll pardon the pun, "not boring" by using the not boring software suite…
