Seeing the trees for the forest

A couple of months ago I wrote about how I was playing around with multiple data input layers for an area of forest in northern(ish) Sweden, experimenting with whether I could refine the 10 metre-per-pixel resolution land cover map down to 1 metre in resolution by brining in other data sources, such as the a 1 metre resolution digital elevation map (DEM).
