Bibiel Hears Things: Sophia Somajo – “Amphetamine”

Hey people! I’ve recently been listening quite a fair bit to Sophia Somajo, so I thought I may as well feature this highly talented Swedish musician, because I think she’s absolutely great. It’s actually not the first time that I’m featuring Sophia; I did it once before, specifically her cover of Tina Turner’s “Private Dancer”, which, in my opinion, is so much deeper and hard-hitting than the original. But while Sophia is a fabulous, insanely expressive and versatile singer, her songwriting is also very noteworthy. In fact, she has ghostwritten lyrics for lots of very famous artists, from Robyn to Christina Aguilera to Britney Spears, for example, she co-wrote Britney Spears’s song “Criminal” under the pseudonym Tiffany Amber (Sophia does gravitate to quite heavy subject matter in her songwriting).
