For reasons of employment I was setting up one of those @company.onmicrosoft.com logins for someone today and I told him he was going to need to install Microsoft Authenticator because one of the steps was going to be that. This is a small team going from seat licensing/Enterprise to standard business and it’s generally a thing of create that account, they scan with their authenticator, bam, all good. This person didn’t have authenticator so I told him go to the App Store and install Microsoft Authenticator. I was working on attempting to pass a captcha that was broken and stuck in a loop (it instructed me to hold this button – yeah, I held it the entire time and now you’re saying error and reloading the same thing?) And he showed me the screen that said “Microsoft Authentication” and I said yup as I kept trying to prove to MS that I was not some cheap AI built to break into accounts. He then asked was it normally that much and the screen he was on was trying to get him to subscribe…
