This morning I received a very urgent, official looking text message from “Maricopa County” reminding me of my traffic infraction hearing at 09:00 MST. If I did not appear in court, the Maricopa County sheriff would stop by my house to visit me. My traffic violations were around toll evasion in the greater Phoenix area. Arizona does not have toll roads. I’m sure many of my gentle readers are as frustrated as I am with the onslaught of spam and other ridiculous forms of communication we receive on a daily basis. I never thought I would miss the days of paper based junk mail in the mailbox, but at least you can burn that nonsense. I often receive urgent text messages from the “CEO of the company” I work for, advising me she’s in a meeting and needs to text instead of talking on the phone. The phone number is usually indicating some odd area code, hundreds or thousands of miles from where the CEO is located. With all the crappy technology being belched at us on a regular basis, it’s…
