75% To Our First Stretch Goal!

ARB’s first annual fundraiser met our starting goal in the first hour! Now, we’re about 75% of the way to our first stretch goal, with 2 weeks left on the clock! Our supporters have already guaranteed the first level of sustainability we were aiming for: covering site costs and improvements, and paying our contributors a little bit. At our first stretch goal of $5,000, which still feels super-low and achievable, we’ll be be able to pay our contributors in the range of $50 for reviews and $100 for longer essays. We’d like to improve those rates over time, and figure out how to make the editorial workload more viable, but that seems like a great starting place for taking SFF criticism more seriously. We still have some great rewards available, and possibly a few more on the way.
