Excire sent me a copy of their software, Excire Foto, for review. I’d been looking for a decent way to sort through more than two decades’ worth of digital photos. Other programmes that came up in my search seemed to fall short of what I needed—either that or they required a monthly subscription, which I’m always loath to pay. Excire is a one-off payment and seems to do pretty much all I need. Excire Foto search of my archives for “bird in flight against a blue sky”, very accurate results, and the weather cock can be excused given how it looks Fundamentally, I want to be able to quickly cull duplicates or lower-quality images from my archive or after a photoshoot. Excire can do this quickly and automatically. The culling tools are powerful, allowing you to automatically assign quality and other sort parameters to push your best photos to your workflow or dump the dodgy ones in the rejection bin. This is perfect for big events or trips—especially when you’ve used high-speed burst modes…
