Last night we had 256 lockouts on accounts as someone using a globe-spanning VPN tried getting Ben K’s password and into his Pocketables account. They also tried a few of the other authors over the past couple of weeks but nothing like waking up to 256 (yeah, I know what that number is,) emails about IPs being banned one right after the other. One of the stranger things I’ve seen happen on the site. I’d love to say that’s why there’s not been much on the site lately, but realistically that’s just been me dealing with kitten stuff (seriously, if you’re in or around Nashville take this wobbly kitten, I’m already at $530 on vet bills for his stray mother and he needs someone who can deal with wobbly cat.) I’d love to say that Pocketables security is so deep and great that there’s no way they could get in, but yeah it’s WordPress. It’s a cardboard bag. Slightly more secure than a chicken in a fox den. It’ll probably get broken at some point although them getting to the /wp-admin is going…
