Early this year I was using my PC gaming laptop daily alongside my iPhone. Not bad. But I needed an Apple computer for specific Apple apps. The cheapest and simplest option was the base iPad. I grabbed it on sale and paired a keyboard case to it — voilà! A quasi-MacBook. It was meant to supplement my gaming laptop. Instead, it accidentally replaced it. I still have my HP Victus clamshell PC but haven’t touched it in almost three months. Not even for gaming — gasp! I likely will…but I’ve been telling myself that for weeks now. I want to play some games on it but have been reading eBooks instead on my iPad. The main two apps and tasks that I needed an Apple computer for were Notes and Journal. Notes offers only basic features on iCloud.com and Journal is not there at all. A $299 iPad and low-cost bluetooth keyboard fills those needs very well. I thought I’d carry on with other basic tasks via my 15.6” laptop. But it hasn’t worked out that way. My needs are basic, and the iPad fills them…
