Been working on a submission for AIES 2026, aggressively. Feel like my empathetic machines paper is significant enough to be published, so took to working on designing experiments that'd help. So went about it. In the middle, I got access to Claude API via Startup Credits and found myself enjoying tinkering with assessing tokenizer efficiency through experiments. And within a weeks time, voila - I've spent upwards of $500. Apologised to the founders once they'd flagged it, and in all honesty, I'd never thought it's gone over $150. So this was a shocker. In an attempt to behave like a Gentleman Cadet, I took accountability and apologised. Offered to reimburse it too. Well, all's well that ends well! Thankfully they forgave me. Feel grateful and thankful to the founders. If they can look over this, I guess I'm adding some positive value.
