We had been waiting a few years on an inheritance check from my wife and her sister’s grandfather. When it came in the mail, I messaged a real estate agent and soon enough the three of us were moving into our new house. No, seriously, it took like a month from getting the money to owning and living in a house. Well, I don’t own it, but I get to stay there for free. I do a lot of the chores and cooking. I didn’t write much last month because was busy packing and moving and unpacking and planning a housewarming party and such. House spouse stuff. My wife is the breadwinner. She’s a software engineer. She works backend on a popular streaming service. We met in Berkeley where we both got a BA in Computer Science. She graduated a year ahead of me. She’s very good at programming. I'm not bad, either, but I’ve never had much of a career in the tech industry, since I graduated right before the pandemic and was transitioning around that time as well, both of which she helped me with.
