I haven't quite made up my mind about AI. I am influenced by many who think it's a greater scourge on our lives than any technology previously introduced, and I'm not entirely sure they're wrong. Working alone, though, I do find it has some uses — mostly in being able to run ideas past it, particularly when it reminds me to suspend my desire to tell partners they are wrong in ways that don't actually help. For instance, it talked me out of sending this: This reads like a Nickelodeon bumper from 2003 and doesn't fit our register at all. Our voice isn't peppy or interruptive; it's warm and steady.I had other comments too — about tone, about the manner of some messaging around requirements — all of which I thought felt satisfying to write but wouldn't have moved anything forward, and would likely have made things worse. In that sense, AI can be like a colleague who reminds you of the stoic values you last discussed over coffee, then leaves you to make the decisions yourself — saving you…
