Ars poetica
Strip it downmake no soundtouch the truthfeel its fruitHere brevityretorts on humanitywith sobering clarityand bittersweet gravityTelling terse truthsof our bare beingsHere speaking skiesand its lent hand and eyesmake the Moon walkand its tides talkThey preserve loveor touch a nerveand rumble revolutionsTelling terse truthsof our bare beingsThis is the terse versesparing in wordsbut not inwards.Notes: This poem is an ode to poetry itself. It’s written for the Day 26 prompt of the Global Poetry Writing Month: “Ars poetica”, a Latin phrase meaning the “art of poetry”.A friend recently asked me, “where does your love for poetry come from?” Here’s the answer: My desire for poetry stems from the desire to express fundamental emotional states that life makes you go through, and the desire to capture observations & experiences of the human condition and our very beings. - Jatan on Journal J ☕️ Contact Support Space Thanks for using RSS the best.
