Much of the challenge with being productive in the long term is consistently carving out time for what’s important but not urgent. Steven Covey fans will recognize this as “Quadrant Two” – the place where the most meaningful long-term work lives. It is also the place that consistently gets squeezed out by whatever is loudest that day. Easy to talk about. So bloody hard to do.
