Pixar sued DMA Design (the devs behind SNES unicycle racing game, Uniracers aka Unirally in Europe) for allegedly copying the unicycle from their 1987 short film, Red’s Dream. Pixar won and Nintendo (the game’s publisher) had to stop making any more Uniracers cartridges after the initial run of 300,000. Clearly they should have added an extra wheel but maybe Raleigh would have sued them instead. Thank god it didn’t have four wheels. Nintendo apparently learnt nothing from this experience and continued walking in Pixar’s shoes for similar lawsuits. (via)
