I haven't had a chance to dig too deeply into this yet, but today this guy launched a nonprofit archive of historical techno-optimist news coverage of technology like airplanes, the telegraph, television, etc. I recommend reading this blog post about the archive. Łukasik says he created it in part as a reaction to a similar archive of pessimistic news coverage about technology. I took one look at that "Pessimists Archive" and it made me feel completely insane. There is a very particular stink coming off that site which reminds me of a very particular kind of person. I can understand why someone might look at it and immediately realize that they could make a much more nuanced archive of its inverse perspective!
