Orginal post: 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks The mother of the apparent McFarland brothers who settled in Bovina, Delaware County, New York in the early 1800s was named Elizabeth Cooke according to a series of notecards documenting the families of Bovina created a century later by David Fletcher Hoy.1 Contemporary documentation of her given and maiden names are lacking, however. She is undoubtedly the "Mrs. McFarland, native of Ireland," who died in Bovina 15 January 1832 at the reported age of 110 years.2 The age is likely an exaggeration as she was more likely born about 1740.
