First Beer of the Year

Astute readers may have caught mention of our trip to RT Rogers brewery as part of our memory tour of Sierra Madre last week. It was the first beer I’ve had in almost a year (other than non-alcoholic beers). My justification for breaking my year of no drinking with beers from RT Rogers is that we will not be back here any time soon. We spent two pleasant afternoons at RT Rogers. On Thursday I had a flight of four tasting size beers and on Friday I had another flight and a half pint. It probably would have been a nice afternoon either way. The weather was perfect, we had the mountains for scenery, oldies on the radio, and the company was great. The beer was almost secondary, they didn’t have the stout we really like and the batch of their Hazy IPA wasn’t the same as it used to be, but the Pilsner and standard IPA tasted just like I remembered. I have no regrets.
