People think that discipline is all about doing the thing, but it's not, it's about not doing all the other things one could be doing. Not dividing your attention. Not listening to all the distractions. Ignoring their call. But isn't that effectively the same? No, not really. It's similar, but sometimes a change in perspective can do a lot. Instead of trying to move towards the thing, try moving away from the other things. You already know what it is you should be doing, you don't need to find ways to highlight it even further, it already is, you need to black out the other things. To keep focus on one thing you have to move all the other things out of focus, have to blend them out. Try to find ways to eliminate the other things, they're your real problem. And this doesn't just apply to doing things. Sticking to your values - even when it would be easier to do something that stands in conflict with them.
