As I’ve said a number of times before, I’m a great believe in every book having its time and today’s title is a fine example of that. I was kindly sent this (and its sequel) by lovely Liz back in 2017, and it’s lingered on the TBR since waiting for me to be ready for it. However it called to me in March and turned out to be the perfect read – it’s “Stalin Ate My Homework” by Alexei Sayle. If you haven’t come across Sayle before, he’s a British humourist who’s acted, done stand up, been a TV presenter, made records and of course is author of many books. He came to prominence in the 1980s as part of the alternative comedy scene of the time, appearing as part of “The Comic Strip” and as a regular character in “The Young Ones”. Sayle had a hit record with ‘Ullo John! Gotta New Motor?” and was a regular presence on TV.
