I had my performance review at work yesterday. It went great. You shouldn't get to a performance review and find out about a bunch of problems, these should be brought up much earlier as a general rule of thumb. Everyone seems happy. I do think of it as being a little bit circle jerky (a term I use a bit) when it comes to feedback from other people. Are we all that great? Are people too scared to say anything apart from good things? Maybe it is a mixture of all of this. Maybe I'm just overthinking it and I am really lucky to be working with the people I work with. In past jobs the only real problems were with the bosses, never really the co-workers. As long as everyone does it, work gets to tick some boxes and we move on with our lives until next year.
