Problem statement: get reminded to pick up the laundry after starting to wash it. The most practical workflow is to yell to my Google Home: wake me up in one hour. It feels silly to say wake me up in a context that does not involve getting out of bed, but it’s the most practical sentence in English at my fingertips. It surely beats set an alarm at 15:00 — I do not want to think in terms of absolute time, I only care about relative time in this context. Perhaps ring an alarm in one hour is a reasonable alternative, but the word “ring” is not too idiomatic to my taste in this context. An alternative workflow is to use Clock.app on iOS. It surely works reliably, I could even ask Siri to do so. But I am already glued to my phone for various reasons, there is no need to make it even worse. Previously. — § —Reply via email#serenity
