A friend and I attended a book binding workshop yesterday morning. I’d been meaning to do something like this for a long time; I love reading and writing, so naturally I was really hyped about the idea of learning how to make my own. During the workshop, we learned the saddle stitch method. I’ve never used needle and thread, so my first attempts felt and turned out a bit wonky. After the workshop, I was given the opportunity to buy a book binding kit with everything I needed to make my own books at home (sans the paper). In the afternoon, I kept making little notebooks using random greeting cards as covers. These are all A6 notebooks. I used MD paper squared sheets for the pages; because they have the squares only on one side, the inside looks squared on one page and blank on the next. Additionally, people have the option of cutting the edges to make them look even, but I like them sticking out a bit.
