I’ve been trying a Pencil for handwriting in Apple Journal on iPad — unusable! The Pencil works fine in Notes and Freeform, but the Journal app is buggy. It will not save my handwriting consistently; too often it simply disappears completely when hitting the check mark to finish an entry. Plus, Journal lacks ruled lines. Apple Notes has them but Journal doesn’t. I can’t rely on Journal for handwriting at all. Maybe iPadOS 27 will fix it.
