I have spent the last couple of weeks messing around with redoing a lot of this website. I've published the new version but it should be considered in an alpha kind of state, because there are still some parts that are a bit wonky. I decided to send it out into the world anyway because it was interfering with my ability to actually publish anything. There are two reasons i wanted to redo the site, which correspond to the backend and the frontend respectively: with regards to the backend, as i have mentioned a few times recently, the previous version of the site made it very difficult to add new things, and also was taking a few minutes to build which, in the grand scheme of things is not a huge problem, but slow software does not bring me joy; with regards to the frontend, i wanted something with a bit more personality, and writing css does in fact also bring me joy.
