Sunday Asides #92 I don’t watch local TV news much these days, but I heard on NPR this week about these destructive wildfires in South Georgia. I’m in Atlanta proper, so this is hundreds of miles away, but...damn. It has been a pretty dry year so far, but I didn’t know drought levels had gotten that severe. Georgia is currently under a state of emergency, and I hope that firefighters can get this under control and that folks have evacuated safely. Speaking of local stuff, I've never been to the Eastside Trail portion of the Beltline. Don't really have any desire to go there either. And actually...speaking of not watching the news, I found out about the "shooting" that took place at the White House Correspondents' Dinner last night while scrolling on TikTok and seeing videos about it.
