I have more patients who have problems with using this solution than ones whose comfort is improved by it. I had a patient recently who saw two different doctors because of his lens fogging. Then, he would put a new one in, and it would get better. He said that on a recent trip, he bought some multipurpose solution, used some new lenses, and his problem disappeared. When I finally saw him, his cornea looked fine. I asked him if he changed the solution he has been using. He said he didn’t change anything. He was using Clear Care as always, but the box looked different this time. Later, he texted me, and it turns out he was using Clear Care with HydraGlyde. Of course. Biofinity, Acuvue, even Total 30 lenses (MADE BY ALCON) do worse when patients use solutions with HydraGlyde. Why is this garbage still on the market? One other remark about this situation… The other doctor he saw described his cornea as “swelling.” That’s fine. It makes sense. He prescribed him topical steroids and warned…
