I saw Film School II, a show at an art gallery called Giant Robot in Sawtelle. It features artists painting and drawing stills from movies. One of its curators is Kellan Jett, a friend of mine and a collaborator on Where the Water Tastes Like Wine many years ago. So I was glad to go check it out! It's better to see it in person, because the art is very good and it's fun to look at actual art in person... but can see all the art in the show here. This is actually the site where they sell the art, so if you wanted to buy it, you could? Anyway, there are some extremely fun versions of moments I recognize from movies I love. If you live in LA, this is a good time! And Ciclavia is in this neighborhood tomorrow, Sunday, which is another great reason to visit Sawtelle!
