I'm writing and testing code for work. Testing takes a couple minutes, so I decided to write something for Bear instead of derping around elsewhere. Soo... I've been thinking about the friction that comes with Bear's default commenting feature (which is no feature at all). A pro that came to mind for me was that it requires you to think more thoroughly before responding. If the writer provides an email address, you have to boot up your email client and draft something that (to me) is more significant than an "I agree" or "your opinion sucks". If the writer does not provide an email, the only option in the Bear-iverse to respond is to write your own post as a response. You have to draft your response somewhere and publish it on Bear. Considering that everything you write on Bear turns into a post on your account and your posts will probably rely on your providing enough context yourself, you probably want it to be substantive enough to convey your full insights on the subject.
