You know what This Means War is missing? Examples. There are not nearly enough examples. I was hyper focused on making sure all the rules clicked before I handed you the playtest, but now that it’s out, I’ve got time to demonstrate exactly what playing a war is like. And (spoiler) you’re reading it right now. This example started small, but rolling dice and seeing what the Waracle dropped each season was just too much fun. So it has grown in the telling, as Professor T says. I’ve broken it into several posts for easier consumption. I’m only covering the war-side of the game, and leaving out all the character and role-play stuff that would normally take up most of each season. Honestly that part of the rules is pretty straightforward (for narrative GMless story games) and doesn’t need explanation.
