March 2026 As well as walking the coast of mainland Britain I have also included many of the islands in my walk and that includes the Isle of Man. However when I walked the coast there were other things on the island I wanted to see and do that I didn’t get time for so I planned to come back. That took longer than expected as it was over 10 years since I was last there. I wanted to walk to the highest part of the Isle of Man, the top of Snaefell mountain and also visit the castle in Castletown and Peel. I hoped to fit all of this into a weekend visit because as usual most of my annual leave is already booked for 2026! Fitting into a weekend prove a challenge because as I discovered there was really only one possible weekend. The flight schedule from London Gatwick worked fairly well for a weekend visit in winter but unfortunately the Easyjet summer schedule which begins at the start of April means the flight times have changed so you have to come back a few hours early on Sunday.
