I really like seeing natural "marks" in art. Like when you can tell someone pushed down and lifted while drawing a line, panel line corners that don't quite meet up, wobbly speech bubbles, pigment pools in an area of a wet blob, etc. Secret tendencies that you only perceive when you look for the marks. Artist marks are the best! This is probably why I don't personally gravitate towards super smooth slick sanitized digital execution (which is technically impressive in its own way). I've come to notice that my own marks are most obvious when I have to change the direction of a line. I don't have the skills to do long continuous lines, so I tend to lift my pen/stylus when I have to change direction. Sketchbook Revival ended and I posted all my photos on (public) masto/fedi. I think the sketchbook form factor (and paper) was not the best format for a lot of the lessons, and the thinner paper also led to a tear in a page (which I covered with washi tape).
