Found this at Boo Han Marrket in Edmonds, Washington. I thought since I’ve tried a lot of tteokbokki, I’d try out this one. The rice cake in this is just a different shape – sliced like little medallions. Kind of looks like what you’d find in a box of escalloped potatoes. Let’s give it a try! Semchorong Yorigoongri Cup Tteokguk – South Korea Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add in tteokguk rice cake and sachet contents. Add 380ml boiling water (up to the line inside the bowl). Cover for 2~3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy! Detail of the lid (click to enlarge). Flat pieces of rice cake. A sachet of soup base powder seasoning. Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallion and crushed red pepper. The rice cake sliced hydrated surprisingly well in 3 minutes. Lightly chewy and plentiful. The broth is kind of like a creamy chicken – it’s really nice. It dumped rain yesterday and I got soaked and had to be in wet clothes…
