Dog Person, by Camille Pagán I am not altogether sure why I was invited to read this ARC, as it doesn’t seem like my usual fare (contemporary romance has been such a miss and miss for me lately),. The conceit of the book is that the story is narrated, in first person, present tense, by an elderly rescue dog, Harold, who was tasked with helping his owner, Miguel, find love again, by the late Amelia, Miguel’s partner and Harold’s rescuer. It’s 2003, and six seasons have passed since Amelia died of heart desease; Harold’s is keenly aware that his own time is short; he simply must find a way, and quickly, to fulfill her beloved human’s last wish.
